I am pretty happy with my Obsession entry, and how it came out even if it didn't finish as high as I would have liked. As usual whenever an image does fairly well, I send it on to my parents for them to ooh and aah over.

I should mention that they're Brits who grew up during WWII...anyway here's the comment they sent me back...Amazing that you got Mussolini to pose for you! Last picture I saw of him he was hanging upside down from a lamppost. Must be his great grandson, the Canadian branch of the family.

Only fair to add that this was also followed by a word or two of congrats.

Does anyone else's parents do this backhanded complimenting thing, or am I the only one? I am seriously considering putting them up for sale on eBay. Will probably do that once I dig up my adoption papers!

Oh I do, no question about that! I'm not offended by what they said, I'm just wondering if other peeps' parents compare them to deposed dictators :-)

I hate to admit this (cause you know where I live)... but your parents said exactly what I was thinking when I first saw this image.

If it is any consolation to you... when I jointed the RCMPolice in 1966, I signed on for a whopping $4,800.00 per year. When I excitedly told my father about this, his response was: "Good grief... what is it that you would know that is worth that kind of money?"

I did feel a tad deflated after that. :O)

Really? Though I've since googled images of Mussolini (and his much scarier-looking, botoxed-ducklipped granddaughter Alessandra) and seen the downturned mouth, not seen any of him peeking out from behind sap pails!!! Send me an image so I can see what you mean! Please!
