Maybe this has been asked here before, but if you could travel back in time and photograph any person, place, event, where/what would it be?

I would love to go back to the court of King Henry VIII (of course I'd have to make 6 trips to catch all his wives).

I guess you guys didn't see "Jurassic Park" ... ;-)

I think my answer would depend on whether it would just be to get some unique pictures or if I could actually DO something with the information ...

Battle of the Little Big Horn, just to see what really transpired.

Well, just for *photographic events*, I'd love to have been on the spot, airborne with a high-speed camera, to capture the "extinction event" off the Yucatan peninsula that wiped out the dinosaurs...

Impossible to choose just one. I'd also love to go back and check out what Jesus was REALLY like :)

Or Pompeii.

Or...

Portraits of the old Greek philosophers. As an alternative: live shot of a Neanderthal chef making dinner ;)

The discovery of Tut Ankh Amun Tomb in the Valley of the Kings in Luxor. I wish I could have been there he moment the treasures were discovered in the tomb intact.... WOW!

Ancient Egypt or Rome in its full glory (assuming my safety is guaranteed.... don't want to end up as lion fodder).

How about the same tomb when they were loading it up with the expired boy king? That would have been some sight.

Oh jeez where do I start...when the first woman discovered how to make fire. Men were out there hunting woolly mammoths and their ilk, women stayed home and dug grubs and roots and raised kids. I bet woman discovered how to make fire and taught men once they got sick of primitive elephant sushi :-)

Probably, however ...

Let's say you are there on assignment only to record the subject/events - but it's something you REALLY want to see.

Too many to count but a few would be

Angkor Wat at the height of civilization
Chichen Itza during height of Mayan
the grassy knoll
Titanic
Making of Nazca lines
Woodstock or other big pop festival
Ancient Greece

That would be tough because I would not be able to just pick one for I would want to do a series.... if time was 'not limited' I would want to do an environmental/documentary portrait series of several individuals in time (mind you the list would be a lot longer but these would be the top to start:-) ).

- William Shakespeare along side the actors performing in the Globe Theatre
-Galileo Galilei
- Leonardo da Vinci
-Gráinne Ni Mháille or better know as Grace O'Malley - most especially the documented meeting between her and Queen Elizabeth I
-Eleanor of Aquitaine
-Michelangelo
-Artemisia Gentileschi
-Robin Hood - if it could be found who was the actual historical figure
-the samurai women of 16th century japan
-Ng Mui -a Shaolin monastery abbess
-Artisians and craftsman who made the Mo‘ai statues on Easter Island
- Homer - the author of the Iliad and the Odyssey
