What drones are really good at... This footage is equal parts horrifying and beautiful...

There is not much news coverage about this incident here in Taiwan. Seems the gov. doesn't care at all. If I have time I will go see this WE. It's not too far from Taipei, about 40min. by scooter.

How does a ship torque in two like that from an engine failure?

The damage you see is the result of it being banged on the rocks by wind and waves. The hull is a structural member; the integrity of the ship depends on the shape of the hull. It's like a soda can - if you try to twist the two ends of an intact can in opposite directions, you cannot do it. If, however, you put a small dent in one side, then twist, the thing will collapse easily. So the hull gets dented by the rocks, and then the twisting forces of waves and shifting cargo takes over and does the rest.
