Great act. I just found it really irritating how much time was spent showing the judges.

The show spends a bunch of money getting judges who will draw the viewers in.

The contestants are there for free.

Sad... but that's the way it works.

And what makes them money.

I do admit to watching American Idol (one of the two shows I watch)... and enjoy seeing the judges and their reactions.

I watch some of those shows too, and I do enjoy seeing the judges reactions, but on the American shows (as well as our local ones) most of the airtime goes to the contestants. In this case seeing the act is more important than on a show like American Idol though because it's entirely visual.

I agree, Gina.

Well, the analogue here is "America's Got Talent": Howard Stern and Howie Mandell are two of the judges. THIS particular clip is from "Thailand's Got Talent" — it's like a franchise, there are a bunch of them. I've watched the American version from time to time, and they show a lot of reaction shots too; as was pointed out earlier, the "draw" on these shows is the celebs themselves, by and large. But remember, the whole show is assembled on the cutting room floor, so they're not letting you miss anything significant in the act usually. It's just part of the contract that the judges get face time, don'tcha know? That's my take on it anyway...
