"No Land" means "No Land".

Only if in a court of law (see definition #5). Note that #9 can be extended to parts of a manufactured CD/DVD as well as vinyl and other physical media.

Anything connected with land is "land". But I'm only one voter ;)

Sky, water, birds, aeroplanes, falling leaves, anything carried by the wind but not tethered to the ground, volcanic outburst without the mountain, a hat thrown into the air, anything in and on water.

Am I right?

I like to see the volcanic outburst without the mountain! +1 for me :)

The "no-land" part would definitely say that you could make your image up of only water... or things in or on the water, IMHO.

BUT>>> the "skyscape" part means that it has to be mainly about the sky.

Agree?

A "skyscape" is a skyscape; you guys can all figure it out yourself :-)

Seriously. Let's try hard not to analyze this to death, and let's all enter our best interpretations of what this challenge means, then let the voters (collectively but as individuals) tell us how good a job they think we did.

Lol! Could we ever, ever, come up with a challenge which would not provoke 'what does it mean?' discussions?

I don't plan on entering... but was wondering if my voting perspective was correct... according to other people's perspective.

But see, that's the thing of it; there's NO "correct" perspective, just DIFFERING perspectives. That's why it's all so fascinating :-)

Actually I don't think we ever have. We've even had debates about what's "acceptable" in "color challenges" like Red, Green, Pink...

I'm with you! This is hilarious. I love it, makes me think of my analytical 11 year old. LOL

I don't think we get a "What is a 'Free Study'" thread every single month ... what I wish is that we'd take the time to talk about the challenges after the voting is over instead -- it seems like it would be more interesting to talk about how photos met (or didn't meet) the challenge when there are actual pictures to look at ... it's one aspect of the site where I think we do it somewhat backwards.

I disagree that anything that is attached to land is "land".

So... for me... for example... a tree... is not land.

To each his/her own, though! :D
