Hey all!

I'm in New York this week! I've got an urge to do some photography. Does anyone have some secret spots they would like to share? :-)

There are no secret spots in NY.

and

Everything is a secret spot in NY.

Without a doubt, one of the most photogenic cities in the world.

I am going to assume that you're mostly talking about NYC, rather than NY state?
I hate big cities, but I adore New York City! I'd love to live right in Manhattan, at least for a few years.

I'm sure every single one of its millions of photogenic spots has had its photo taken millions of times - the hard part is choosing which ones to go for if you have limited time.

There are photos of NYC everywhere....... most of them are the obvious spots (but they are "obvious" for a fine reason, too!).

I should feel sorry for you that you need to choose, but I don't..... I'm just a tad jealous that you HAVE that choice and I don't.
Good luck - I know you'll love it!

There's so much variety. It depends on where you're staying and how far you'd like to venture and what you enjoy photographing most? People, architecture (interior or exterior)? If you're staying till next weekend, look at www.ohny.org. If it's your first visit or 2nd, etc. and you haven't checked out the view from the top of the rock, it's a beauty. Touristy but lovely at sunset.

Perhaps some gallery show openings you'd be interested in?

If you’ve never been, Grand Central Station is wonderful. From there take the 6 train to Brooklyn Bridge and walk at least half way. Spring St. Station between these two iconic landmarks is Soho and a nice walk. Lots of interesting neighborhoods in all directions. If you’re feeling adventurous head over to Bowery and Sara Delano Roosevelt Park. That’s a day or more of discovery.

A few favorite dining spots:

Clinton Street Baking Co. - Great breakfast but gets very crowded.

Boulton and Watt - Nice Bar with great food. Get the blackened chicken if you go for dinner.

Hope that helps. Have fun
