As of this morning half (4 out of 8) challenges on the board are running under the Extended Editing rules. That's crazy (and not in a good way). :-(

Noted. We'll even it out going forward. The Bob Dylan challenge was an obvious Extended challenge, and a timely one of course.

interesting, the whining hasn't declined linearly with participation.

No but the participation has declined linearly with the increase in extended challenges.

Why is an obvious extended challenge...seems like standard or even minimal would be more fitting?

Because Dylan's work is such a fertile field to harvest, and highlighting or emphasizing just one tiny part of it doesn't seem to me to do justice to the "tribute" aspect. It seemed like a good idea to open the challenge up to "collaging", basically. The Michael Jackson challenge was extended, for example. Expert, actually, but... Also note that this is one of the relatively few times we've had an OPEN challenge with the Expert/Extended ruleset. Anyway, making it Extended came up early in the challenge suggestion thread and it seemed to have good support, so....
