description says "a probe was sent to THE planet's surface". if it said "A planet's surface" it could reasonably be interpreted as one of EARTH's probes to ANOTHER planet.

any thoughts?

The word 'sent' implies that it's not talking about Earth's surface.

It's not very clear but with extended editing I'd imagine unearthly creations.

I think it can be interpreted as anything whatsover. Treat it as the first line in a short story and take it from there.

Interesting... I took it to mean that another planet sent a probe to the surface of our planet... and the one photo is what represents Earth to the other planet when they get the one photo back to them.

So...I think... no one knows... and anything goes! :D

Even if I'm not a mothertongue it seems quite easy: we sent a probe to another surface planet and the probe sent us back just one photo before we lost communication with it :)

As far as I'M concerned, the first time I read the description I imagined an alien probe sending back to the Mothership a single image of US. Then I did a mental double-take and said "Duh, we could be talking about a probe WE sent to, say, Venus that got off one image before it was stepped on by a Venerian monster or whatever!", so yes, as far as my voting goes, ANYTHING goes. I think it will be fun.

I had a different interpretation of the probe. But then again, I had a colonoscopy today :)

I don't care if it is our planet or a different one, but I very much hope for interesting takes on the subject - not just a tree, a rock, a beach, a person/animal.

I look forward to crazy creations, or at least some interesting/puzzling/amusing angles, viewpoints, distortions, etc.

No doubt there will be many fantastic results - I look forward to viewing and voting on this one!

"the planets surface" = earth.

... Seriously, who cares? Just mash something together and then applaud what's his name (g something) computer generated creation when all is said and done.

LOL
