Everybody knows my eternal problem with english language so I ask if someone could explain me (better with images as example) what we should do in this challenge. Thanks

As I understand it's a Free Study but in MINIMAL editing

But I'm no native English speaker either, so please somebody correct me, if I misunderstood...

I think you are correct -- shoot whatever you want, but no processing/editing other than re-sizing and sharpening (and sensor-dust removal).

mhhh...
If it would be so I don't understand the motive for this title and the relative explanation. It was more simple titled: "free study in minimal"
Or is this a poetic licence? :)

I have no insider knowledge about this, but I'd say that the scope of "Free Study in Minimal" would include submissions that use in-camera settings to produce black and white jpg images. "Color Slides" seems to invite color images.

Sisto, not all that long ago we loaded our 35mm cameras with Kodachrome, Ektachrome, Fujichrome, "Color Slide films, and we sent the rolls off to be processed. The slides came back in cardboard mounts and we put them in a slide projector and projected them on a screen for people to see. We couldn't crop. We couldn't change white balance, there was nothing we could adjust after the image was taken.

Now, with digital photography, we're all used to being able to edit in ways that were unimaginable 25 years ago. But sometimes it's instructive, even fun, to pretend that we are still shooting color slides, and just go out and take pretty pictures, getting it just right in camera.

That's what this challenge is about. Go have fun! Shoot whatever you want. Enjoy...

Dear Bear, I like very much the minimal challenges, really.
I'd like to have more ones every months but I didn't understand the explanation of this challenge. I thought it was necessary to take a photo that could remind us the color/atmosphere of the old times but now I know that is not important. Ok, it'll be a free study in minimal. Let's go to shoot and, as always, I'll have fun

thanks

I would think an important part of the brief is for the content to be that which you would show at a gathering of friends and family.

Well, some of us aren't pretending. Slides (the real thing) are quite beautiful, and actually a good entry point (or re-entry point) into film photography, because you can instantly visualize the image on a light table or with a projector, and scan it with pretty much those same expectations. I have several rolls of Provia waiting to be processed.

I wish I had time to enter this one. The good news is I bought a new DSLR and re-upped my membership this week.

That is VERY good news. We have missed your lively eye.

ETA: It's 11 DAYS until the Color Slide challenge is due, and it's MINIMAL so you don't have to process. Surely you can come up with a worthy entry by then? :-)

Temptation. I can load something directly from my iPhone, right? What could be easier? And I'm in Europe this month...
