I remember these types of threads on every challenge, people would post their current scores or people would post how they voted, some people wouldn't post because they thought it brought bad luck and their score would go down if they revealed what they currently had. I always found it fun to see how you were doing against others. If there's a reason these threads don't exist much anymore let me know.

I just finished voting and commenting on Playgrounds II (a challenge I'm not in) and wanted to put a thread out there

You have rated 36 of 36 images (100%) in this challenge.
You have commented on 14 images (39%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 5.5833.

I usually end up giving an average score around 5.5, there are usually a few photos I love, quite a few I like and some that I just don't get

Have a great day

You missed me, Wendy . . . and I should actually have a way higher score. Something has gone wrong somewhere . . . I love my shot, too, Johanna.

Going nowhere

I think the DPL (or call it Rant effect) has already started. Not a problem, but I'll never understand why it happens

When people just put up interim results, like above, I don't really get the point. But when people muse about their results and other matters it becomes interesting, at least to me. So far, higher than I expected, and very respectable in the context of my usual scores. When I entered the photo I was quite ambivalent and had a very small emotional stake in it. It seemed to float out there in the realm of should I bother with entering it, oh well why not. Some of one's images you feel happy with and put up your inner umbrella to tenderly usher them along, while others you casually set asea , curious as to what shore it will wash up upon. Sometimes it's an obstinate assertion of esthetic freedom. And others. A big divide is whether or not you are trying to get a high score by appealing to the voters or submitting what satisfies your own sensibilities. I fall into the latter motivation, but am wondering whether I should, in the context of being a team player in the League (Go Mutton for the Masses!), shift to going for the score, if I'm even capable of it. Anyway, thanks for listening.

That’s always the back and forth. Big decisions. I enter what I have that’s best for the challenge at the moment and hope my efforts will strike a chord with someone else along the way, maybe even inspire a comment or two. I seem to fail miserably at picking what others will score best so if mine does I get a bonus! Interim results keep changing but it’s fun to guess how it will turn out.
