Just put some photos up in my dpchallenge profile for the first time.
I would love to know what you think.

Also wondering why Exif Reader won't tell me my ISO speed.

Any takers?

Thanks allot!

Hi-ho,

I like the baby in a bucket... :-).

And on the ISO in the exif.. All i can offer is that jhead (exif reader for Linux) doesn't report the ISO setting from my G5 images either, but works for images from the EOS 300D and 20D.. The Exif tag for ISO on the G5 must be non-standard I suppose.

If you use Photoshop and "save for web", I believe the EXIF info gets stripped out. This would prevent it from showing up in EXIF Reader. Could this be the case?

Using "Save As" instead does preserve the info, btw.

Only the zinnia with selective desat. has been processed with photoshop and I did save for web. The others won't produce ISO info either. Maybe I could try a different app. to read exif info or is it fruitless?
Seems enough reason to keep considering the 20D before 2005. ;)

The Canon software itself does show the ISO, so it's in the EXIF, but I don't like it to use, and it dosn't run under Linux anyway.

Sounds like a perfectly good reason to by the 20D. What the heck, jhead works for 1Ds mkII images as well, I think you should get one of those.

Cheers, Chris H.

hi Marc!

the baby in the bucket is adorable. i really like the ant pic, too...has a cool "pop art" look to it.

nice to see another Louisiana face in the crowd!

If you select Auto ISO you will not get the ISO value in the exif data. That's a characteristic of the G series powershot.

PS: The baby in the bucket is quite cute!

I rarely select auto ISO but it may be the case with these photos. I'll have to look into it again after my next outing.
Thanks for all the help.
