This is mainly an exercise in trying to work the whole 'thumbnail in forum' concept that seems to cause no end of trouble around here. But while I'm at it, I took this picture the other day and it was uninspiring at first glance so I paid it no further attention - but a quick play around on GIMP and I think it's quite effective. Of course I have been known to be completely wrong about these things, so any opinions/ critiques would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Bugger... well that didn't work... no thumbnail for me I guess

I'll try again

When you do your post, you will see a number of icons top left of your posting. Click on 5th, insert thumbnail link. Another box will open up...just type in the pic number '123456' or whatever.

Then post your posting as normal. Thumbnail will appear in the posting.

This works when pics are stored in Portfolio on DPC

Hehe, cheers.

Well would you look at that... some things ARE simple in life after all. I was trying to follow the tutorial on forum code in the learn section... which was probably my downfall.

Now that we have that straight any opinons on the pic would be great.

Thanks.

I love the image - it's simple, soothing to look at while maintaining a nice modern edge. Good work!

Very nice...the photos in your portfolio are excellent! You've got a really good eye for lines and composition...I can't wait to see more of your work!

I really love what you did with this shot. Have you posted the technique you used? I added you as a favorite when I first saw your work; you appear to enjoy the use of line and form in abstracts in the same way I do.

Cheers for the generous response. Normally I know right away whether something I've done is effective or not, but this one I wasn't sure.

Technique was very simple. I think I played around with curves for a bit to try and emphasise the lines on the right hand side. Then a hue shift (last time I checked mother nature didn't come in that particular colour).

I think it is an exquisite image.
