New voting page is up. Photographs are now displayed in a different random order for everyone. This way no one gets special attention for being at the top of the list. Upon voting, your votes will now be sorted on the main voting page. This should make things easier to organize and compare what you've given different photographs.
3:2 and 4:3 ratio'd images are now allowed, [url=/submit.asp]as outlined here[/url]. This should accomodate MOST cameras.

Also, for those of you who haven't noticed, your photographer profile page is now updated with all kinds of goodies. You can access it from the menu with Community -> My Profile.
The new 'comments' feature on your profile page should help you keep up with comments on your submissions that you might not be checking often.
Also note that the private messaging system is now in place. Please use this discretely. We'll have a comment-reply system up some time this week.
If this isn't incentive to upload a picture and fill out your profile, I don't know what is! :D

Since you apparently can't reply to administrator announcements, I'm replying here.
The private message system doesn't seem to work. When I click the Send Message button, I get sent to this URL: //www.dpchallenge.com/message.asp?USER_ID=
And the page I see is this:
Send Private Message

It looks like the only problem is the URL.

It would be nice if you put a "Top of Page" link on all of your pages. It would be faster for me anyway.

Langdon,you need to remove the following para' from the rules;
'textPhotographs are shown in the voting area in the order in which they are received. Absolutely no other preference is applied to the photographs. This is encouragement for photographers to turn in their submissions early!

can I make a suggestion that would soooo help me out...
can there be a spacific "challenge search" title. Either in the Photo's area or the Challenge Archives (or both)...it's a bit of a pain in the arse to find an old challenge now...I have to search through pages of non-related pictures when I just want to go to that challenge...
just a suggestion...(tucking tail and running)
ETA:...sorry, I meant to say nice improvements as well....job(s) well done...thank alot for all your time and effort in making this place even better....

Challenges > Challenge History > Select "Show all challenges at once" > Click Filter > do a text search with your browser

Good suggestion. However, I know you can goto Challenges -> Challenge History and sort them out, OR use the filter option there.
ETA: Someone beat me to it:-)

ok....some of you already know that I know enough to be dangerous...but not near enough to do it right...what do you mean "do a text search with your browser" I don't see any place to "search" for a certain challenge
this coming from a person that has just discovered how to tell who is online currently (head slap) |

Oh, sorry. Depending on what browser you're using, pressing CTRL + F should pop up a "Text Search" window... just type in what you're looking for, and that should pretty much do it. |
