I was browsing through the galleries and noticed there are many people that do the same thing I do - take pictures of people taking pictures. My son thinks I'm weird and loves to laugh at the idea - he believes its absurd!

But I know others here do it too...

Here's one of my recent:

Anyone else?

I have a buddy that went to Paris recently and took a picture of a person taking a picture of the Mona Lisa with a cell phone.

Are you allowed to have cameras in there?

yes, I took a picture of the mona lisa... it came out alright, albiet a bit of noise and someones flash went off in the top right corner so the glass has a reflection of that... and no tripods... and the crowds... so many flashes going off (and that is not permitted either, apart from hurting the shots of those people obeying).

Unfortunately, it's usually not that they are ignoring the rule. It's just that most people don't know how to turn the flash off on their cameras.

Here's one I snapped -- Unfortunately I didn't get the camera back down before she turned around -- I was caught! So I slinked away (with the picture). But I couldn't help it.. I was just amused at the stance she had -- to get down at the right angle for that shot.

Of course, *I* would never slither on my belly in the mud to get an angle -- ever.

Taking pictures of people is my least favorite thing to do. If a challenge ever comes up where people are necessary I guess I will miss it. However, I find myself focusing on people taking pictures quite a bit. Then I try and see what they are shooting if it isn't obvious.

Last week in town someone took about twenty pictures of me taking pictures of the parade. It was very unnerving...she wasn't even cute. When I was walking back to my truck I pointed my camera at her and she hid her face. I saw her in the grocery store two days ago and I asked her if her pics came out, she laughed and told me she only wanted one of the tattoo on my neck and left arm and I would not stand still. Oh well. I hate having my picture taken and avoid it if possible.

Yeah I know, but still they could at least cover the flash with a thumb. One day they won't let us take pictures of the mona lisa because of too much damage thanks to lighting.

On April 6, 2005 — following a period of curatorial maintenance, recording, and analysis — the painting was moved, within the Louvre, to a new home in the museum's Salle des Etats. It is displayed in a purpose-built, climate-controlled enclosure behind unbreakable, non-reflective glass.

Don't know if that makes it okay or not.

My husband and I tried photographing through his telescope.

We both stole pix of each other while doing this.

Don't know how the images came out. Never developed the film.

Wow! These are all so great!

I used to wonder what I look like as I crouch down or crawl among the weeds...Now I know!
