Based on a little bit of feedback, I have posted a new version of the first photo I put up on DPC.

Here is the original:

And here is the latest version:

I'd appreciate any feedback on the latest one. I asked for the Critique Club to review the original but I never got any feedback on it.

I do like the resubmission better. The main distraction to me is that it is fuzzy, probably from movement (what you couldn't get him to pose:)
Did you try sharpening? Also looks a bit grey, have you played with contrast? I love the feeling this shot gives you, it's so wild the way he is walking through the bushes.

I did try to sharpen it to the point of distorting the surroundings. Added to his motion is the think pane of glass that I was standing behind to take the shot.

In the large scale print, I used a crystallize filter in Photoshop to make the whole picture a little bit fuzzy. I wasn't sure if that was the right way to go at first, but the more I looked at it, the more I liked it. It made the whole photo more consistent with a softened look. I thought it added a little bit of drama to it.

I tried to mess with the colors a little bit, but you are right that it needs more.

Thanks for the feedback!

The resubmit now has a CC on it.

Thanks for the extensive feed back, mavrik. That's exactly what I was looking for. When I put the initial photos up, I checked the critique box, but I don't know what happened after that.

Based on your feedback, I've withdrawn and again resubmitted the shot here:

Let me know what you think!

Thanks again!

I don't see a critique box on portfolio submissions. If I'd realized that you hadn't entered that in any challenges, and could delete the photo 10 mins after I put up that critique, I wouldn't have made it. I thought it was part of fauna for some reason, but I guess that hasn't ended yet. *shrug*
