First of all, I know my pic is not great, but it meant something to me. The fact that it scored low is not important either. But I'm wondering if I got the record least comments. I saw one with 5 comments, but mine got only 4.
Anyone else got 4 or fewer comments??
And then I wonder, why, when most pics got at least 10 comments or more. Is it so bad or confusing that you just don't know what to say? I know that sometimes I get that problem with some pics; I just don't get it and I have nothing to say.
Anyway, do I have a record least comments here?

The problem is just the sheer number of photos. Back when there were around 100 each week, I commented on around half of them. Now I'm lucky to comment on all the ones I give 10s to. It's just too hard to pause and comment on a photo when you know there are still so many to get through. It's really sad. I find it draining to vote on over 200 photos (even if I had high speed internet access, I'd still find it a difficult mental exercise).

I agree with lisae...I stopped having the time to comment because of the # of submissions.

Initially I commented on every image in a challenge. Last one (reflections) I commented only 70 and that took a lot of time. I'd really like to comment on more but I can only do that at the expense of other interests, and much as I love DPC, I don't want to do that.
I agree it's a shame as comments are more useful than score to many of us, but I can't see a solution when we have so many entries.

How about a site license for voice-recognition software and bulk purchase of cheap headsets? I'm sure for a lot of folks it's not the commenting but the typing... |

Nah, I type FAST (just ask users of DPC chatroom about the yellow terror) - it's the commenting itself for me; thinking of exactly what to say and how to express it.

That would be me! I need to take a typing class, but I have to many kids. Maybe in ten years.

Speaking of someone who received only 6 comments, I have made a pact with myself... I will no longer comment on the number of comments I get until Comments Received is equal to or less than Comments Given.
If you want a comment from me (and I try to sign all mine, if I remember) then leave me a comment. Of course, I know that submissions are anonymous, so this puts forth the idea of "To get comments, you have to give comments...."
On to the commenting! (at this rate, I should be caught up by tonight)

I think 4 would probably be the record low. |
