Depends on what part of Oklahoma you are in or where you want to go. there are lots of country areas, ther is the great salt plains, then the Glass(gloss) moutians, there is Wollorock museaum. What part of the state you going to?

No where!!! Just kidding! The only place I have ever really shot photos in OK is at Turner Falls and that was during the summer. They use to have a place called Arbuckle Wilderness close by there also where you drive through and can take animal pictures and such, but I'm not sure if it's still there. Just be care because we rode in the bed of a truck and I got bit on the butt by a giraffe. It hurt like heck.

I'm not sure of the name of the road, but there are a couple lakes on the east side of the highway that connects dallas to 44, about an hour or so south of 44, that are amazing at sunset...

Ok well firs off in tulsa (though is wrong time of year for it) there is the Tulsa rose Gardens and the Phillbrook museaum anlso Turkey Mtn has some good look out points (so I hear I havent explored it much), North Of Tulsa there are some real Flat lands and nice shots along US75 Great place to be to See some good Clouds and lightning during Storms. South of Tulsa In the Jenks area along Like Elwood are some senic views. South Of Bixby I belive it is HW 64 (Memorial in Bixby turns into a highway)It will take you to a bit but get you to Stone Bluff, some nice landscapes out that way, Hills ect and in Stonebluff is a winery/vineyard. West of Tulsa on 412 it takes a bit but wne close to Arkansas you get in the foot hills of the Ozarks, some nice stuff there. West of Tulsa there is Gillcrease(sp?) muesueam, Keystone lake, willoroc(sp), then open land for a while with occasional good views.

These are all within about 1 1/2 hour trip or less.

I actually just looked it up... It's highway 69, just south of I-40... I was in a hurry when I drove through that area, and I remember hating myself for not stopping to get some pics...

well, I am from OKC, but I take lots of pics in OKLAHOMA, especially landscapes. I mostly go west and south, which makes a longer drive for you, but it can be very rewarding. I'll make a list:

My favorite place in Ok. is Mount Scott in Lawton. It is a little more than an hour south of OKC.

I am also drawn to the quartz mountain area. It is amazing. I make a trip there at least twice a year. It is a 3 hour drive from OKC south and west, so I imagine from Tulsa it is quite a haul, but worth it. The route that I take is I go I-44 south to Mount Scott, and then head east so you could hit both in one weekend.

As far as to the east, there are some amazing things out your way too. One of my favorite is Siloam Springs. I think it is straight east of you near the Arkansas boarder. They actually filmed the opening sequence for "Where the Red Fern Grows" there.

Or, you can head south. you are about a week late for the most colorful leaves, but you can still get some great shots at talahena drive. It is amazing. I highly recomend it. You can also then go down to beaver's bend from there, but YOU MUST SEE TALAHENA DRIVE.

These pics don't do it justice. I had to be there at the middle of the day so none of that great lighting. They are from last weekend.

Hope you enjoy. If you ever want a tour of mount scott, or quartz moutain, I would be happy to show you the places I know.

Almost forgot in Tulsa you have the River parks area all along the arkansas river, around 21st or 31st there is also a pedestrian bridge a water fountian and a power plant that has a hugh lit sign, then further south along riverside you have a second ped bridge (see bridge into darkness in my portfolio)and the OK aquarium.

just for the record, nemesise1977 and I are planning to go to the wichita's on saturday. Anybody that wants to join in is very welcome. there is still plenty of room in my truck. The weather will be very bad, but might make for some amazing pictures on top of mount scott, which we might have to hike to if the acess road is closed. But a good time should be had by all ;)
