a friend of mine has asked me to do his sr. pictures, I told him I'd do them for free, all he would need to do is pay for the prints themselves.. Well, my question is, where should I print them from? He's wanting me to also make sure it says his name and 06 on the bottom of the pictures too. any help would be appreciated.

Almost any digital lab can give you quality work for portraits.

I use Walmart quite often... and consequently find One-hour better than send out, for some unknown reason.

Also, //www.dotphoto.com does excellent work and you can set up your account to let him order from them. They also have custom pricing, so you could bump the prices up and wala PROFIT ;-)

I think MPixis great! I use them for all of my business photos. They have great quality, fast shipping and wonderful customer service! I won't use anyone else ever again!

As for the name or year in the corner, you have to do that yourself in photoshop. Just make sure it's in far enough so it doesn't get cropped off.

Here is an example:

I used to use dotophoto also - until they messed up my order 3x's in a row... and when my color pics came back, the people looked like wax stautes.

I have used snapfish and am always happy with them. Used winkflash once and the prints were awful and did not like winkflash's paper.

I use Walmart. However, have a PlanB in place as on 2 occasions I have added text to a photo and they have questioned whether it was a scanned copy of a professional portrait (I was flattered but the quality certainly wasn't professional, it was a prank photo). After discussing it with them they printed it. Somewhere in their rules it says it won't print copyrighted material (or words to that effect) which is comforting to know they do watch for this.

I must admit, I had that problem with them too on this photo

I had to sign a statement saying it was mine. I was quite furious at the time, because I was in a hurry and had to wait for a manager to take his sweet time getting to the photo department.

When I started out I used Sam's Club, and when a new girl got hired, she actually wouldn't give me my pictures! She said that I was trying to print a professional photo and that it was copyright infringement! I was nice and told her that I took the photos and that I came here often to have them done. She told me that if I wanted the pictures that I would have to come back when the manager was working. When I went back, he apologized left and right and told me he explained to her who I was. I was flattered, yet a bit angry that she wouldn't give me my dang photos! LoL

What part of Oklahoma do you live in? I have had some prints done at Epperson Photo and they are reasonable. I had a 1 X 6 foot panorama print done for $64US.
