I just did a quick test with an Image of mine from the Round Challenge from before I calibrated my monitor and and after calibration

Before calibration (from round challenge)

After Calibration

can ya tell the difference??? The after image is how it looked to me before I calibrated my monitor. I had a comment saying it looked green....and sure enough after I calibrated the monitor it did infact look green....

the after image looks much better...

Before looks best to my monitor. After looks a little hot.
It's a super shot.

if you look on the left edge of the ball there is a green tint to it. If not, then you may need to adjust your contrast on your monitor a little bit.

since i calibrated my monitor I can see each shade in the little bar at the bottom of the page when you are voting on an image. I was not able to see each shade before

yeah the first looks green and not black the second looks like it needs a slight levels adjustment to be able to see the signatures on the left side a little better

Definitely a terrific shot.

"Before" looks best on all my monitors (all calibrated), don't see any green. Agree with Justine about the "after". Has a very strong glare to it.

The after looks better, but I'm no expert. The befor did have a green cast in the dark areas. I use Adobe Gamma to calibrate my momitor.

ok now im just gonna go around scratching my head trying to figure this out....some people say the before looks good and the after needs adjustment to reduce some glare.....others say the before has a green shadow to it and hte after looks great...

I am so confused.....im gonna go crawl back under my rock now.... :)

The before image looks greenish in the dark areas but the levels look better than in the after image. I can see the signatures on the left side of the ball in the before image but not the after image.

So in the before picture the left side looks better even though it's greenish because it is not blacked out.

In the after image, the light area on the right side of the ball is a little too light, almost a bright white where the light reflects off of the ball.

The color in the after image is better, but it is too contrasty and needs the levels adjusted so there is detail in the shadows and the white is not too bright.

I used Adobe to calibrate my monitor also.
