I have been thinking about leaving some promo cards at a few of the local bridal shops. I worked on a couple options tonight and this is what I came up with. I personally like the first one because I think it makes a stronger statement but Manic thinks the second one looks nicer. What do you think?

Thanks for looking.

They're both well done, but I'm with Manic, I like the second one best. The B&W is appealing, and the whole scene seems somewhat simpler and more wedding-like to me. The color shot doesn't scream "wedding" at me as much as it does "prom/ball", but maybe I'm just strange.

I prefer the second one as well. In the first, the model looks weird to me because of the way she's leaning and the tilt. I think it makes her look fat. Also, the lighting on the first one could be better.

Edit: and besides, the horizontal format works better for cards in my opinion.

BTW, these aren't business cards, they are 4x6 cards.

I agree that the second one seems more professional and more flattering to the subject.

My other concern would be once these are reduced down to business card size, that print is going to be very, very small. Find someone who used reading glasses to proof the final size and see if it would be readable.

EDIT: typing at the same time you were....4x6 should be okay for the reading of the print. I like the second one a lot and I like your oval logo.

I think I'm with everyone above in prefering the second card. I like artistic tilts in photos, it just seems a little too much for me on the first one. Maybe rotate it back a little so the bride's legs are going into the bottom-left corner of the shot? I think you'd still have room for your logo...

I don't know anything when it comes to photography, but I really like the second one. It feels more classy and/or elegant.

I prefer the 2nd one myself...the reason is the flowers. I think the addition of the bouquet really gives it more of a bridal feel. The first one is beautiful, but like OdysseyF22 stated, it looks more ball/prom instead of bridal and I think it's because of the lack of a bouquet. They're both gorgeous though and either one should bring you some business. :)

I like the second one as well. Feels a bit warmer than the first which lends itself to a more elegant feeling.

From a distance, #1 looks good. It might even look decent at business card size. But I think at 4x6" size, people will be able to tell that the quality in #1 is suffering. I vote for #2 as well.

Going with the crowd here. I think the second is more 'bridal' looking. The focus is on the bride, where as in the first, the bright colors draw your eye more to the background.

Thanks for your feedback. It's funny that everyone here likes the second one better and almost everyone at one of the pro photographer forums I frequent likes the first one better. I think I am going to make some of each and put them out.

The first one I think I like better. The color will get more attention sitting in a rack, and it looks more like what you see in magazines (not that i've looked lately) - more high end is perhaps the better term.

Anything on the back of the cards?

No, nothing. I figured something like this (4x6) would catch people's attention better than a business card, specially mine which are very simple.

Number two is the winner by a long shot. I think the colors are quite off in the first one but the second one is catchy and still humble.

Good luck on the card

I like both cards, and I think putting out some of each is a good idea. The only thing I am not sure of on the first one is the fact that the angle makes her hips look a little big, IMHO. And when brides are looking for photographers I think they like to see more "ideal" types...I am not putting this very well. But I also think her hands look a bit akward in the second shot also. These are minor things and I think you would do well with either of them.
