Is a good idea to go to the games on my local soccer league? and ask parents if they are interested in pic of their kids?
I know my pics are not great but i'm learning. SO, I even give them those pics in trade of my 'training'.
HAs anyone done it? Is it a good idea?

Also i might ask them to sign the release form

:)

Folks make money from soccer prints, so why not. A lot of times some parents can't make it to the games and would like to some shots of their kids.

I was just about to ask a variation the same question - I went down to the watch some of the local teams on the weekend and took some pics - please have a look.

I'm friends with most of the guys in one of the teams and they all want photos - but I will be charging for my time, just not sure how much though. They seem really keen to look at the photos where I've taken 3 or 4 in a burst so that they can see their "moves".

I figure that adults will be willing to pay for pics of themselves. I know that I would love to have some photos of me playing sport but I'm not sure how much I would pay.

I'm thinking of just giving them a cd with a simpleviewer gallery - charging them for my editing time - and if they want prints I'll charge them.

Your white balance is off in most of those shots.

Thats what you get with a work computer (no editing software) and a uncalibrated monitor... these are straight from camera - I realise that they will need work when I get home to a real computer

sorry for hijacking your thread ankawa :)

Is there any answer to one of the the original questions about release forms?

I would have thought NO, it is a public space, and our legal right to take photos has been pretty well established in previous forums - but does selling the photos have any effect of the situation?

Yes, it does. Unless you have a release from everyone in the picture you can't sell it. If there is only one person in the photo then you can sell it to THAT PERSON only, without a release.

That's why when I do sports teams I get the parents to sign the order form which includes, in the fine print, a release. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to include the team photo in everyone's pacakges! :)
