It would'be been better if you shot lower then the model. Using the wall to led the viewers eyes toward the face. Currently it is leading to her bustline. Not that it is bad, but you know.

May I have a go at your shot?

Okay, taking off from work I hope you don't mind I had a go at your photo.

I'll be more than happy to remove if I've crossed a line.

why do you think it needs a crop? Are you gonna print this? If so what size? After you think about that it'll be a lot easier to decide.

yes, it will be printed
very small, about the size of a senior photo in a yearbook...actually it will be the size of a senior photo in a year book.

Some ideas:

Although it's probably better at the top I think to crop right above the hair as routerguy already commented.

hmmm, yeah like Klstover did, also, little bit of burning to help bring attention away from arm

Maybe a horizontal crop?

or a bit softer

I liked kelly's #2 until I saw brad's.

That follow-me look with the leading line of the bridge in the bg, excellent eye-flow.

Oh gosh, the horizontal crops are amazing! Really great to see more of the background as it is such a lovely part of the original shot.

Here are my two shots.

I like a horizontal crop but the problem is the over blown highlights on the right. Also if it is going in a yearbook, a square/rectangular crop would be more appropriate.
In that respect, I like a tight crop and (although I am no good at it) I thought changing the background to b&w would be nice.

I know you wanted a face portrait, but I feel like it would be strong like this.

This one would draw more attention to the face, but it seems like just a face crop loses a lot of the personality with the hair falling down her arm.

:)

Edit to say I love BradP's versions and think you should go with them.

You can help yourself. I have no need for them.
Glad you liked them. The leading lines of the bridge were too good to leave out and drew my eyes to her eyes without taking the lead. If you need more help or want a larger version edited, PM me, I'll be happy to help out.
(PM's don't seem to get here often, so if you do PM and don't hear back, holler)

A little too close to the elbow for my taste. It kinda gives me the feeling she's an amputee :-(
