I took a number of photos for a family friend who recently got married. As well, I have taken some grad/prom photos for a couple of my nieces. I would like to put these on a CD or DVD for them to view them or print them out on their own.

For those of you who have sold or given away disks to friends/family/clients for them to make their own prints, I have a number of questions:

1. What file format do you include on the disk (JPG or TIF)? I'm not sure what format those self printing kiosks accept in Walmart, Blacks, etc.

2. Do those kiosks accept both CDs and DVDs?

3. Do you include various picture sizes (4x6, 5x7, 8x10, etc) of the same photo on the disk, do you just crop to one size, or do you just leave the photo as is and the kiosk will take care of the cropping/sizing when the photo is printed?

Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance!

1) JPEG - it's the most commonly supported file format...

2) CD - most kiosks don't support DVD as of yet

3) In general, I go with uncropped images. The reason being is that kiosks don't put the images in folders for viewing and multiple copies get confusing for the customer. The kiosks do have custom cropping abilities, but I prefer to leave a bit of wiggle room in my compositions.
