*waves* Hi everyone...It's been awhile since I've come to the site.

I'm working on my business cards right now and have the design done, but there's one thing I'm missing.

I remember a loooong time ago, probably at least 2 years, in a thread about business cards, someone mentioned that they had a mini-release printed on the backs so that they didn't have to worry about having full forms with them if they needed one on-the-go.

I would really really love if someone could either point me towards that thread or if the person who has it reads this, if they could let me know what the text was...

If anyone's interested, here's what one version of my card looks like. Pretty simple. The other two versions just have different pictures and slightly different text.

Welcome back Ami - it has been a long time!

Here is an informal release, but one would need a heck of a magnifying glass to read it on the back of a business card, unless you have a really, really big card:

Permission To Use Pictures

In consideration for value received, receipt whereof is acknowledged, I hereby give photographer’s name goes here the absolute right and permission to publish, copyright and use pictures of me in which I may be included in whole or in part, composite or retouched in character or form, in conjunction with (initial those applicable):

_______my own name

_______a fictitious name

_______no name to be used

If the person photographed is under 18, I certify that I am his or her parent or legal guardian and I give my consent without reservation to the foregoing on his or her behalf.

I had done some simple model releases but instead of using the back of a business card I used some avery tickets. You could have a release on the back of a card, but pretty small text for sure, might be better to have two cards - one business and the other just the text? Then you can have the under 18 release on one side, over 18 on the other....
Just a couple of ideas for you.

I wrote a short version of a model release recently thinking it would be useful for travelling (and was also thinking of printing it on back of business card or small white cards) but realised that many stock agencies would probably not accept it, even though it covers everything longer ones cover and clearly too because many insist on their own or very similar versions being used.

I also realised that most people I came across on holiday would not necessarily understand written English let alone be willing to sign a legal document without advice or formal setting.

I decided to skip it!

I'm going use them for conventions when I take photos of cosplayers/costumers. I always forget to print out releases ahead of time, so having some either on the cards already or having some seperate little cards like C-Fox mentioned would be perfect for me.

Thanks everyone so far. ^_^ I think the seperate card might be a better option for me because I don't really want to waste any of my cards. I'm getting them printed for me as a favor at the digital printing place where I'm doing an internship this summer so they're going to be really pretty and I couldn't afford them otherwise. XD

If you are making them business card-sized, you might want to print them up on some pre-perforated business card stock, available from Avery and many other vendors, for laser or inkjet printers. They look "cheap" as business cards but should be fine for a "form."

If it's not on your business card you can use both sides.

Why couldn't I have a cool last name like Yuy? I'm cursed. :-(

*nods* That's exactly what I was thinking of doing. That's how I'd printed my previous business cards and never gave them out because they did look kinda cheap (I did chop off the perforated sides though) and I didn't have that many.

Lol, well when you get to choose it because it's your online alias/screen name, then it's easy to have. XD That's one reason I'm getting 3 versions of the card printed, 2 with variations with my screen name and then one with my real name.
