Post your outtakes from the Seed challenge here.

My outtakes sucked as bad as my entry so what would be the point.

One thing I found interesting though - not a single vote from a No Camera voter. All voters had a camera. Never happened (to me) before.

My entry:
Choose this one because I prefer the background.

my entry

outtake 1

outtake 2

wonder if the red one had scored better, thought maybe it would hurt your eyes

Your 2nd outtake is almost as good as your entry. I don't like the red background. I loved your entry and gave it a 9.

I agree with your decision on the red background. However, I like outtake #2 better than your entry. :D

Some experiments/versions I went thru before submitting my final entry.

Like the outtake much better for the color of seed and the better composition (not as much negative space as in your entry). Background IS better in your entry...

Gave you a 6, outtake has much better colors, but the weed itself doesn't look half as nice, might have gotten a 5 from me. Might have been good to tweak the colors and levels in your entry - like this

I entered this one for a few hours and then pulled it.

I do tend to leave my colors a bit on the dull side. Not sure why, other than a fear of "overcooking" them maybe. I have this in B&W and actually prefer it that way, but I prefer nearly everything in B&W...

Appreciate the feedback!

Agreed. The image entered looks a little underexposed. Just a small bump, as eyewave has done, makes it stand out more. Just my 2 cents. ;^)

Yeah, I gotta learn to tweak more. :-) It was a very gray morning - the one I entered had more color than met the eye in "real life" as it is.

Eyewave - I like your entry better than your outtake - the red is a bit overpowering to me. And glad, I like all the versions of your shot - looks like you had fun with it!

red background would not have helped... probably would have hurt, i'd think...

put me down in the "you should have entered outtake 2" camp... ;)

Description
"Seed" has a lot of potential meanings; fertilize your imagination for this one, and show us the essence of "seed" your way.

No where in the challenge discription does it say take a picture of a seed or seeds or that a seed has to be in it. It does say fertilize your Imagination for this one, and show us the essence of "seed" your way.

Threes are born of seeds and music came about through the use of trees in the instuments, Therfor music was born from a seed.

Just my attempt at using my imagination other than taking a picture of a seed.

A seed is the begining of anything including ideas.

While I agree, and tried to keep that in mind while voting, your entry just seemed too far of a stretch. I think a wooden instrument (such as a recorder) would have made a better connection to trees which come from seeds.

A seed is the begining of anything including ideas.

Too early for the challenge, dammit!

My first thought on seeing the topic was a used condom, but decided that might not be too DPC-friendly ;)

This was my first choice, chickened out at the last minute for the much more processed image.
