just a question i'd like to ask...

facebook. it's huge. my college i go to, people pride themselves on how many pictures they can have, and the quality of the pictures they can have on there. this is my best form of advertisement. i've got quite a few beautiful friends here on campus, that are quite well known...that have 23987432987 friends on facebook, so when i make an album of my "JRowe Photography Portraiture work" and tag it to their name/profile, immediately 1300 people on campus see it. it's great.

my question. i'm getting bites left and right for portrait work, which is good.. but. a lot of them want to have a cd w/ pics on them so they can put them on facebook. i know one way is me putting them on there for them, which is a possibility. but.

what's some good ways to ensure that my images won't be stolen, if at all. i will have my JR symbol at the bottom of each image. i know putting them at a certain resolution will possibly not allow printing, and if so it will not be good prints. below is a few links to my facebook galleries to give you an idea of what will be displayed.

but if anyone has any ideas, i would greatly appreciate it. some people come to me for business JUST FOR pictures for facebook. 5 or 6 a week. so this is a channel i'm definitely looking into exploiting :)

all suggestions / comments are greatly appreciated.

What do you mean Stolen??? If the images are online there is a Possiblity that someone may download them... and another possiblity they may display them elsewhere with or w/out your logo on them.

Best thing to do, is keep them at none printing levels, and let it go. Hope the people displaying them will give you referance something pointing towards you.

have the people you are giving the disk to, sign a release stating they will only use the images for self promotion all other uses are restricted. So if it does come up somewhere you have a basis to remove or gain from.

watermark- (can be undone in Photoshop)
Disable right click- (they'll use Print screen)
Bottom line if they want them..they'll get them.

I would suggest a private gallery that only relatives/friend have access.

well, stolen is a harsh way of putting it, but i do realize it will be just a right click away. i'm mainly worried about just prints. if i put my logo on there, hopefully no self respecting print lab will allow a print w/out a release.

oh well, i guess it's just the risk you take. thanks everyone for the responses.

As long as you put it in a place it can't be cropped out without ruining the shot.
