Post your outtakes from the Faceless Portrait challenge here.
10/16/2006 12:15:27 AM · #2
These were all taken with partially cloud covered sun behind my subjects. I used a speedlight with a softbox and a 41' gold reflector. I love the reflector. Anyway your comments are welcome.

This is not really faceless however it was taken at the same time and place as the photo I submitted. I am just hoping to get some input....

I originally took this for faceless, but thought there was too much face. I regret not putting it in. How do you think it would have done?

I actually think you would have been right up there with this one. It is really captivating to me...makes you want to see what's behind the book

Spent a whole day and 50 million shots on this, but just couldn't get it to look right.

Entered this, took about 7 or 8 shots:)

Well, if you ask me you entered the wrong picture. To me it's a lot better than the one you did enter...

Many thanks for the comments, I guess sometimes you don't see things that are staring you right in the face. Dang!
oh, the car is my '71 Ford Fairlane.

I had submitted this, but then I chickened out. I figured if there were two people in the picture, the DNMC Nazis would ding me. Actually, I think what I did submit was a technically better picture -- a lot sharper anyhow. Not bad for switching fifteen minutes before the deadline. (Takes a modest bow. 8))

A couple of photo's I had considered,

but I couldn't resist this one! :D Thanks to all who left comments. Much appreciated.

In a word, yes. (IMNSHO) I didn't like the light in your submission. It looked, to me, as if you had just used the camera flash, and it was pretty harsh. Also, I had to look too hard for grandfather's hand.

FWIW, the one with the hexagonal tiles in the background is my favorite.

Thanks for showing us your outtakes. I'm a Japanese textile junkie, and I love the series and your notes on the festival.

This was my original shot, but thought maybe it had too much face?
outake

I used the same post process on both pictures.

I like the pose in this one better, However the DNMC Patrol would have more than likely murdered your score for showing too much face. Both are very nice photos.

Did not get the chance to enter this but wondered what people felt about it?
