Hello,
Goodday to you over there, i am Mr Adam Martin , I need a private wedding photographer for my duaghter's wedding in UK , i got your advert while surfing through the internet and i really want my duaghter's wedding to be covered by you in the month of Decomber 2006 .Although, I want you to get back to me with following details...
1)If you are avaliable for the period
2)Total cost of Photograph for 2 days friday and sarturday..
3)Your years of Photographer experience.
looking forward
to hearing from you soonest.
Regards

What kinda tips me off as fake is the bad grammar, as well as the mispellings. I dunno man lol. I sure would love to go to the UK lol.

Nope. Doesn't sound legit to me. Sounds like you'd be an unwilling participant in money laundering. :P

Shame though, the travel would be nice.

You *could* reply, but be cautious. Whatever you do, don't give them any money.

I would be more than a little hesitant, though. It looks very similar to some of the hoaxes that have been posted here before.

More importantly, you can't accept money from them. You tell them a fee of $2000, they "accidently" send you a check for $20,000, then they ask you to deposit the check in your account and wire the overage back to them. Washy washy.

Yeah, i'd never send them money. I'm not sure how folks fall for those types of scams. If someone sends me a check for more than the amount we agreed upon, I tear up the check and tell them the check never arrived. Perhaps I will write back, just to see where it goes.

This has been on DPC and every other photography forum on the net.

It is a scam. do a google search for "private wedding photographer scam" and look at all the results.

I just got my first one of these also....

Hello,
My name is John Way, I am from Oregonia, Ohio, I went through the photo albums on your
website today and they are very lovely as i can see you are a perfect photographer so i
decided to contact you and see if you can take a good picture together for me at my Son
wedding ceremony which will be taking place here in Oregonia, Ohio on the 20th of January
2007, I will like you to know that i will be the one responsible for the Hotel reservation
and my driver will be the one to pick you up from the airport, Kindly let me know if you are
available for this service and how much you will be accepting for a service like this, I am
contacting you all because i found out that you are a good photographer And regarding your
payment i will be paying you with my Credit Card upfront before coming for the service, Let
me know if you are down foor this service
Hope to hear from you Asap
John Way

I am guessing that most people that can afford to have a driver pick me up from the airport, probably have better grammar than this! But it was a bit amusing.

Edit to add...And I am soooo far from "perfect" that was a dead give away! LOL

What an entertaining site. Seems though that some people have far too much spare time. Much faster just to hit the delete key.

I guess a good response (if you responded at all) would be, "I am glad you are considering me. Please reply with your phone number and we can talk it over." :D

Let's just save everyone some money and get it over with. Send me a certified check for $155 and I will promise not to invite you to be a photographer at my daughters wedding. So simple and no obligation this way. You will not have to worry about a taxi at the airport or having an angry and uncooperative brides mother to listen too. A cheap way to not do weddings and after all ... we're all friends here and can be trusted.

Wow! I hadn't heard about this particular scam. Although I was aware of the scam of sending too much money and asking for a refund. Wow,

It's a common scam.
