Entry:

Outtake:

Well, not really an outtake, because I took this one before the selfportrait challenge. But this idea inspired me for the selfportrait entry.

My outtake. Ok, one of many, but this was almost my entry. Changed last minute.

You made the right choice. Nothing wrong with this one, but not as appealing IMO.

Hahaha. I think I like your outtake even more than your entry, Larus.

Not an outtake, but a different crop. I think this crop works better for stock, but I'm not sure it'd worked well at DPC.

And yes, I agree that having an appropriate costume would have been much better, but all my stuff is gone (I'm moving) and I didn't want to go buy more. It also might have been nice to not have had such an overcast day but you take what you get!

I prefer the outtake, but my views aren't generally representative. :)

TY and I agree also. There are some other issues with this crop that didn't make it safe for the challenge. The most concerning issue was the "major elemnts" rule. On the Shutterstock crop my arm had to be removed from the left side of the frame. No biggy for them, but a no-no here.

With the crop I used for my entry, I left the arm out of the frame, so as not to tempt fate :-)

I don't own any long sleeve black shirts... maybe next time though.

My entry:

Here are the ones I almost entered.

1.
I didn't think it had enough impact.

2.
I love this one, but hubby liked my entry better

3.
Hubby said I looked too silly.

P.S. - is it funny that my top 4 photos are all self portraits? :)
