Since there aren't any challenge details to specify, I hope everyone remembers that environments don't have to be outdoors. ;-)

I was thinking of putting a mouse in a freezer and photographing that. Any chance that would do well?

Or that Larus guy if you're placing bets... Iceland does appear to be a bit harsh in places. Hopefully he's on vacation somewhere like Florida, where it's placid and calm and not at all harsh....

I doubt it. ;)

Personally I'll be taking a trip on a space-ship for this one. It's the only way to be sure.

I was thinking, I live in Arizona. It's December, and 70 degrees outside. How harsh is that? :)

Now, if this challenge were during the summer......

Of course, like it's been said, harsh enviroment doesn't really mean only outdoors. Take my wife, for instance, Sunday afternoon, Football is on.... :-)

Depends on where you are in Arizona, AZSnapper! I'm in Flagstaff, 7,000 feet up and it's 19 degrees this morning with snow predicted again today. Brrrrr

Busy post processing my shot and I have a couple of questions about the expert editing rules:

- can I copy / paste parts of the image?

- can I make the image larger (with copied material)?

thanks :)

Some say the world will end in fire;
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

Perhaps a cat in the microwave?

Please don't take that seriously. I'm not a big fan of cats, but woudld never hurt one and they aren't tasty at all.

That's an astonishing piece of poetry..never come across it before (and I call myself an English teacher!!) Thanks for that. Mr Frost came up with some really profound things in his own understated way...

I'd also like to know the answer to this...

Is there a thread somewhere that describes in more detail what you can and cannot do with this new rule set?
