It probably wouldn't have done too great, but couldn't have been worse than the shallow DOF entry I had

I prefer your outtake, I think it is beautiful. I gave your entry a 7, would have given your outtake a 9 or 10. Even your outtake's title is much better.

I like the colors in the 2nd image but the arrangement of the outtake.

I love the outtake: it has a more serene look - more sophisticated.

(how do you upload images here - sorry just a stupid question)

Go to your portfolio, click the image you want to post, copy the ID of the image at the end of the URL in the address field of your browser. Come back here, hit the reply button, click the 5th icon from the left above the text field. Paste the ID of the image, hit OK, hit post.

Agreed. It's not as dark and it's easier to find something to focus on.

Now what bar is this that the bar tenders look 20 and wear leather!

Shoot. I deleted all of the duds. I'll have to save them for next time.

My entry was:

My outtakes involved my son "Helping" and "Playing too." I took this shot before he went to bed and inbetween shots of little hands and trains.

This bar is located in a "suburb" of Kansas City, MO called Overland Park, KS. It is called "FUEL". This particular night the bartenders and waitresses (they do not have male servers) dressed up in dominatrix gear, leather, lace & fishnets for a "Dominatrix Party". The place was packed. The ladies typically dance on the bar every 20 - 30 minutes to certain songs in a choreographed routine and improvise on other songs. I'm typically there on a regular basis with my camera. However, I missed a lot of good shots because I had BBQ sauce on my fingers at the time.
