Thanks so much for putting this all together Scott, I for one love the name and the logo and my vote is to keep it but will go with what ever the majority wants. I will check out all the portfolio's tonight... I am in sneaking a peak at work right now so I can't stay long. Looks like a great team and I am looking forward to getting to know you all better during this season.

Yes he is...there are a lot more out there that are good too. We are accepting applications. So we should fill the team before time is up.

Well, How about we get going with some introductions so we can get to know each other?

I'm a 21 year old medical student from Melbourne, Australia. Basically I've always sorta liked photography, and once I got addicted to this site, my photography really kicked off. I ended up upgrading to a DSLR, and have now built up a nice kit of equipment :)

Currently i'm in a bit of a photographic rut... Running low on creativity, and getting busy in uni stuff :P ... So my aim now is to ensure I enter at least one competition a week.

I'll be glad to help out other team members with technical stuff, and offer my opinion where wanted, and I'm hoping I'll learn a lot from you guys too :D

Yay... go us :D

I am 24 & I have a full time job with an insurance company. I also have 2 direct selling businesses. I am getting married in July (to lowcivicman99) & will have 2 step sons (which I am sure you will see in my photography through time). I hope to have some great pictures to share from the wedding & honeymoon :)

I enjoy taking pictures & it is something I have done here & there but nothing consistent. A couple of days ago I decided to start learning to edit pictures so I hope to learn a lot from my team. I seem to have good ideas from time to time & I am sure I can offer something to the team. Joining this team will give me reason to get out & shoot more & do something I enjoy. I have filled my life with doing things for others or being consumed with adult responsibilities. I hope this will be a ticket to some freedom & fun! I am very excited about this experience & I can't wait to start the first challenge. I think as a team we can encourage each other & be successful. Team Vipers will strike! haha

Well I'm 41 and enjoy photography, computers, and learning web design and development. TomFoolery and I founded the WPL which, after a year became incorporated in DPChallenge.com and now known as the DPL. I'm married and have two children. And BTW abranton it's a small world, your soon to be husband ( lowcivicman99) and I live in the same city.

I began taking pictures in high school over 20 years ago but put it a side until just a few years ago. I feel I'm good a composition and believe that comes from my early years with film camera but I know I have a long ways to go to be par with a lot of photographers here. That is one reason I wanted to be on a team. I feel as we make friendships we will also help each other grow in skill, confidence, and imagination.

I welcome all of you to the team and please pm me with whom you feel ,from the list above, you would like to see complete our team. I will send an invite to the photographer with the most votes from the team. We need to to this quick before they get picked. I think we have a good set of photographer that would like to join so look at each one of their profiles carefully.

Thanks and I look forward to this, the first season of the DPL and will do my best as captain to keep us up to date, motivated, and most of all learning each week from our success and sometimes failures. We all know that we are here to compete but most of all learn and become better people as well as photographers.

SDW

Hi all...

I'm Gayle, I'm 39 divorced and live just south of Columbus, Ohio with a 90 lbs monster named Jack the Black Lab. Oh, and of course my Mom who just turned 76. I have been taking photos since I was a kid. Started it all with a polaroid camera. My first 35mm was a Pentax K1000. Loved that camera. I put down the camera for about 15 years. Bought my first digital in 2001, a Panasonic 1.2MP and gradually moved up to the Olympus E500 I have now with 4 lenses.

I work for a hardwood flooring manufacturer (3 years now) and I have my nights and weekends free for photography. I lost my father suddenly 2 years ago and photography helped me through my depression. It gave me an outlet to be able to focus on the positives of life and not the grief. My Dad would be very proud of me today or at least I hope so because I'm having my second art showing in November.

I just recently loaded Photoshop Elements 5.0 onto my computer and I'm becoming a better editor. Worked with Paint Shop Pro in the past and there are some parts of the program I still use.

I'm very excited about about on Team Viper because it will motivate me to shoot more!!!

Peace,

g

Hi Everyone,
Well I started with digital photography about the time I joined the site. My husband is a member here as well and when he got a new upgraded camera I took over his old one which is probably better than anything I would have purchased. I also paint in oils but not as much since I found photography as I find it a wonderful art form as well, and much quicker than painting. Still love to paint but this seems to be my new passion and I find I look at people and landscapes the same way with a camera in my hand as I would a paint brush. I have 4 teenagers ranging from 15 to 19, 3 boys and 1 girl. I also have 4 dogs ranging in size from 5 pounds to 180 pounds. I work full time as a manager in a Nuclear plant which with the kids and dogs and photography keep me very busy. And yes I forgot my mother who I also look after and now lives next door to me. My camera goes everywhere with me and everything is a potential picture. I am really looking forward to this season and am sure we will be a great team.

Just one quick thing, does anyone know how to make the signiture cards with our pictures, or are we going to do that? If we do are we doing a theme or just existing pictures from our profiles. I haven't looked to see if you all have self portraits in your profiles, I have a few, from Gentlemans club on my profile page to a few self portraits. Any thoughts on that or volunteers to put it together?

Susan, I could make them but I would say I should be the last resort. I have no idea how to do them but I could have my fiance help me, he believes I would get frustrated with him trying to show me. haha. If someone on the team does know how to do them, I hope you are willing! Let me know..I can get a pic if needed..I am sure there are size limitations & all that good stuff.

Well folks, please do not take offense, but after waiting for awhile in the pool, I decided to start my own team..so the Canucklheads were born!

Thanks very much for your consideration. Now instead of waiting around I am trying to stir up other Canadian photogs to join the team.

Best of luck to you...and we will see you on the battlefield, may the best pixels win. :)
