Any sort of shot that displays some sort of texture.

Sounds like fun to me! (texture) :D

I was also just posting in thread "Just be nice..." and I think it would be fun to maybe have a "kids week", in addition to or instead of type thing - let our kids take a crack at it every once and awhile. They tend to have a much different look on life then we do (usually better). ??? Anybody else willing to let their kids play with their cameras? I dare say, unless provoked, there would be less "cliche" shots. :D

My cat is my only child and he's not allowed to play with my camera :(

I like the texture idea as well....

As for our kids taking shots...sounds like an excellent idea to me. I know that my oldest daughter is really developing an interest in photography lately. I've even thought about teaching her how to use my old manual Ricoh 35mm. She loves seeing my photography up on the website every week. I know that she would die to see something she did on here.

I think having a kids week is great. I'm sure they would surprise us. Maybe teach us alittle. ;)

Guess you'll have to go out and buy some. Remember to get some with lots of texture...just in case we do the texture challenge, too.

By the way, I like the texture challenge idea.

It's much more economical to rent them. That way, after you fill them up with caffeine and sugar and they start bouncing off the ceiling, you can return them to their parents and go back to your nice, quiet, clean home.

I like the texture idea, too.

re: kids and cameras Kids can do a great job with cameras - digital or otherwise - how about limiting the age level? Ages 8-13 maybe? And making a separate section just for kids? (This project could be more work than you anticipated!) I think it's a great idea though

If you do kids you will have to set age limits. My kids got me started on this addicting site.

Do we get to keep the rosette if they win?

*grin*

instead of a title, maybe we could put their name & age?

We alrready have kids that have their own accounts and submit photos to this challenge. My daughter is 8 and has an account here and frequently kicks my butt.

Agreed. That won't work cause I'm 13, and....well... I don't have nor want kids yet!!
