I think it would be a really cool idea to have a best shot challenge, one that didn't have to be taken over the week of the challenge. Simply put just send in your best shot taken with a digital camera and see what happens. I think it would help us learn alot about each other and our likes and dislikes about photography.
This could be done possibly in conjunction with another challenge so people still shoot that week, but it is something I would just like to see done.

I was thinking about the same thing. Good idea. I hope it catches on!

I agree. One completely open challenge would be great.

I think i would still have to make a new photo for that... I think some of my best shots are some of the ones I have done for these challenges... I haven't been doing this long enough to have a nice library of great photos yet :)

I like that idea very much... why couldn't we just post them as links in a forum? Maybe this one? We could describe details and background of the shot and why we liked it so much and then at the bottom we could put a link to the photo. I guess though that comments on the photos would get complicated if we used the forums...

Has "shoot a flower" or "nature shot" been done? I love natural outdoor photography! -NBT

I find that what I used to think was my best shot, changes as time goes on. Sometimes things I really liked before, I now dislike or find fault with. I think maybe I'm learning too much from you guys {g}

I like this idea, too. I have several photos that I would really like to get people's opinions on.

Okay. I''''m up to THIS challenge. My URL is in my profile on this site. I was hoping to get some comments. I have submitted to two challenges so far, including "people". I am finding it difficult to not "stage" photos, or to find the "perfect" photo during the challenge week. Also, there seems to be a lot of extra rules tacked on by participants, i.e. too many kid shots, photography is art, etc... Isn''''t photography also documenting life, catching the moment, doing it well so that it is not a "snapshot"? I''''m learning, so please take this as conversation, not complaint or argument causing.
So, this is in response to submitting your best shot!
Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time.
