A querry on the calculation of the DPL Season Average.

I notice that my DPL Season Average is based on both entries submitted for Round 1 (6.400 & 5.1429). This doesn't make sense to me as the second score has no impact on my contribution to the team score. I would expect the individual season average to reflect the average of my personal highest scores per DPL round (and if I got no score for specific round for a 0.0000 to be factored into my season average). This would give a reflection of my value to a team. As things stand oen could lurk around all season only submitting to a single choice challenge and net a superb season average.

What do you think?

Last season (WPL4) the average counted all entries. I don't know if we are doing an MVP this season but that factored in not only all your scores but also included challenges you didn't enter (but could of). In other words the person that participated the in most challenges and had the highest average doing so won the MVP, which btw was birkin last season.

True, but was it the best approach. MPV = Most Valuable Player. The simple fact is that in any given round only a players best score adds value to the team. Therefore the second score from that round, whether it be good or bad, has no value to the team.

In the WPL4 it worked like this:
WPL Average: Photographers Highest score only per week / Weeks entered = WPL AVG

MVP Average: Photographer was awarded points for entering each challenge every week. The higher his or her score in each of those challenge awarded them points based on their average, the higher the average the more points earned.
EXAMPLE BELOW:
1 - 807 - birkin
2 - 793 - eyewave
3 - 790 - yanko
4 - 717 - Metatate
5 - 713 - timfythetoo
6 - 702 - Judi
7 - 695 - idnic
8 - 692 - scarbrd
9 - 655 - MAK
10 - 654 - Cutter

Hope this helps.

I'm not sure what the big deal is, it's your average and it DOES matter. Oh and if you were to "lurk around" as you state above, I have a feeling you wouldn't be welcome on that team for the next season.

I'd like to know how the team's season average is calculated. Is it all the entries, so it's comparable to the seed average? Or just the ones that count?

If it's all the entries, then comparing team season average to seed average could be an indicator of how DPL has affected the team's scores.
