Only had a "couple"

and the original, for those that
didn't think this was a candid:

I am actually a bit disappointed in where this placed in the challenge, but, is a Blue Ribbon winner in what it is going to do for this person and their family. The 11x14" print is being picked up Monday, then off to the framer for proper matting & framing, and will be handed to the gentleman this coming Friday, along with a CD so other family members can get a print made. I believe he is a regular at the weekly car show, as those that bring their cars often have car club jackets, bring their chairs to hang out near their cars, etc.

Here is the original. I wonder if it would have done better;

And here is what I almost entered, but changed at the last minute;

Grandson of a friend of mine at Tilden Reginal Park in Berkeley. He was goofing around while I was lying on the grass taking pictures of his sisters. I was on my back, reaching over my head, and took the picture upside-down.

My entrance that did quite well...

The same man about a year ago, sad isn't it.

Two outtakes....

Thanks for all of you to have voted, this truely is one of those sad stories we see around us.

Powerful Photo Gibun, missed it when voting on the few I got to.
We all easily forget about what can happen to a person.

My entry, which didn't do so well.

And a couple of outtakes:

Entry, Scored 5.4483:
YES, it was a candid and I had to crop a ton and it was shot at ISO400 and had a lot of noise, hence the softness to remove it.

Outtakes (only cropped, no processing):
"What Santa Does the Rest of the Year"
I liked the contrast between these two guys.

"Lens Envy"

And of course my pick which Bombed with the the majority of voters but did well with the commentors

Outtake, showing HOW the pants came down. I may or may not have been instrumental.

I've just added a note about the colour version of my entry to the image details, but as I may have missed a lot of peeps ...

Cropping wise, this one is just straightened & trimmed.
I didn't really consider any other possible entries (didn't have time!) but there's a few possibilities in my Alton Towers Gallery.

I know these threads can get long, but I'd appreciate any feedback on my actual entry (below) and the other options I considered.
My entry:

Others I considered:

BTW these are my kids. We had gone out to the beach to get some family portrait shots, and the wind was so bad with the sand in our faces that we could never get a serious shot in.

This is my daughter after her high school graduation ... probably would have done better than my entry, but didn't want to subject my daughter to the vote ...

My teammates talked me out of submitting this one! I think they were right!

And some others that I considered:

If that last one had actually managed to be in focus. . . ah well! :)

Outtakes

No cropping on any of these images. And they are all definitely candid. The image of the couple was a split second decision before somebody crossed in front and then they moved.
