I think this is an awesome idea also. I would think you have some memory if you can remember being breast fed, reasearch suggest your long term memory begins somewhere between 3 and 4 years old. Not saying you may remember but wow that is really something if you can.

Does that mean I've got to fall down the stairs again?

Nah, just get a model to lay at the bottom of them while you take the shots.

I think a record was set in which time a thread can deteriorate. *eye roll here*

The idea is great - Earliest Memory. It would definitely bring up some interesting things.

Mine was an upgrade on my Radio Shack Model I. I went from 4K to 16K! :-)

I don't think I'd like to try and emulate a scene where my aunty was killed in a car accident when I was only 2 years old, I was travelling in the same car as her.

That is my earliest childhood memory.

My earliest memory is locking myself in the bathroom and eating a bottle of baby aspirin...my mom banging on the door and me telling her I had a headache. Then having to have my stomach pumped. I think I was 3-ish.

The aspirin part is vague...the stomach pump is vivid. Yuck!

I just need a race to photoraph. Preferably a tadpole race, but any race will do. I just won't score as high if it's not a tadpole race.

Being in a darkened prison, then escaping. Then I got slapped by a guy in a mask for escaping... ;-Þ

My earliest memory is from 27 months, when my father left me at the hospital to die and the medical people surrounded me with a gigantic stainless-steel needle and took my first of many spinal taps.... This was 1949....

Like Bear, I have very clear memories from when I was two. Except mine happened at Disney World. The puppets in "It's a Small World" scared the bajeezus out of me. Same trip, clear memories of walking along the beach with Dad and of running through the open-air corridor at the Holiday Inn.

Sitting on the arm of an upholstered armchair eating saccharine. It was a bad idea. I was 2 or 3 years old.

yeah I can remember very clearly being about 2 or 3. I wanted a bottle, my moms said no, but my daddy always gave me one.

My 7 yr old can remember things that we did or happened before he ever turned 2.

My earliest memory is of my Mother fussing over my dress so it would be just right when my photos were being taken by my father, I was between 1 and 2. Just looking at the photo made me remember. This is a fascnating subject on what we remember :-). The next memory is when I was 2, I was soundly asleep in a cardboard box, on top of some clothes, under the house when my Mother opened it up and was so relieved to see me, I don't know how long she had been searching for me before that.

To a little toddler, that must have looked so comfortable...memories!

I remember all the other swimmers that didn't make it. Poor guys. They could have been somebody.

Earliest memory of a dream could be even more interesting. Much more abstract. The line between reality and dreaming was quite a confusing one at such a young age. Can anyone remember their first dream remembered?

Would require more photographical imagination and skill (including pp) than I have. Earliest memories are of moments when I am alone and sense I am alone and the Strangeness tries to creep in: once I imagined a fox lurking in the adjacent woods and another time that the clasp on the sash window in my bedroom was the head of an eagle menacing me, and of trying to placate it conversationally. I may have been 3.

I was just about to volunteer that my first memory was actually a dream I had... it was about the house I lived in at the time, which we moved out of before my brother was born, so prior to age 3? It was an awesome house, and from what my mother says, I'm remembering the floor plan accurately.

I'm so sorry so many of you have such disturbing first memories, though...
