Going through the archives I came across the Pink Floyd song titles comp and, spurred on by _eug's recent signature update, I put it to the general public that we have a Led Zep titles competition.

Seconded. Or a Pink Floyd II, because I wasn't here for PF I :)

(although expect a shedload of Stairway to Heavens...either physical stairways or metaphorical graveyard shots!)

Great idea but you may have a hard time finding a pict - especially in Kentucky! Imagine all the DNMC - "that's not a pict - they haven't been seen since the 11th Century"...

Back on track..

Jethro Tull is probably a bit 'specialist' for the masses here...but The Beatles would be ideal (lots of great imagery and lyrics, universally popular etc).

Tull could actually be very interesting; but like was said, be a bit specialist for the masses here. I do like the idea of Zeppelin though, always been a fav of mine and I actually got the Led Zeppelin DVD for Christmas from my kids. Love that version of Moby Dick. Amazing drummer...also really like that live version of "Babe I'm gonna leave you"...

For you Led Heads -

Total Rumor alert:

The skinny is that as soon as Robert Plant finishes this year's other commitments in September, Led Zeppelin will announce a US Tour.

A friend and I went to see an awesome Zeppelin cover band backed up by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra several weeks ago and it was incredible.

I don't care how much the tickets cost or where in the US they play - I'm there.

P.S. Uhh Uhh child, way you shake that thing, gonna make you burn - gonna make you sting (Black Dog)!

Universally popular? Maybe if you're over the age of 55! :)

is anyone in the same boat as me?

1) no one is leaving comments
and
2) there are a lot less stairway to heaven shots than i expected..

i guess its along the same lines as the reasons why no one has done a cover of that song.. lol you cant fuck up perfection

And you haven't lived until you've heard the dear departed Frank Zappa's sublime version. Even better than Rolf.
