I went with this:
I probably should have gone with this:
Oh well. Thank you to the 5 who commented (although yospiff, there was no fancy PP, it just started with decent lighting).

I initially submitted this:
but then went with this, expecting it to get a much lower score:
I'm now convinced I made the right choice! |

And I had several of the iceberg alone that I did not even consider entering. It seems people did not like the buildings in front, but I thought it was important to give the iceberg some sense of scale, otherwise you'd never know how big it was.

For some reason, when I enter the Free Study or "Best of ..." challenges I usually look for the best image I've taken which requires the least post-processing.
I was really happy with my nearly-unprocessed entry:
These two alternate choices also required only minimal tone adjustment with Curves and some sharpening after resizing.

I had a hard time deciding this time around. I was leaning heavy towards one of the bird shots. Still think they would have done a little better.

Not sure I would have done better than 5th, but I do like this shot too:
Sometimes I come up with a title and really like it, but it seemed to go with the outtake better (like he was sitting on a throne). I still went with it but was never satisfied that it was perfect for the shot.

I would love some more comments. This finished at 4.8 and 10%, which was disappointing as I thought it had a lot going for it. Still trying to learn :)

Here are three outtakes
that could possibly attract more attention, instead of the image I have submitted:

I never am quite sure when or why the B&W is used instead on color. In this case the color adds a lot of power to the shot, which is lost in the B&W |
