Any side wagers on the number of "Slinkies" in this one? :-P

I'll say 12% of the total number of entries.

I think that there will be lots more for twisted then straight and of those I think that most will be slinks and paper shadows... Just my guess... I think I will do straight to be different. Hehe! I don't know what to do though, so much I can think of. Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.

Not a single one. :)

From all the whinging in these threads, people will end up only photographing what the whiners want to see, at least for the newer folk. Hopefully the older peeps will photograph what they are inspired to capture.

This is my first go and I've read the rules about basic editing. I don't have fancy editing software anyway, but would turning the shot into a negative be against the rules?

In Basic you can saturate / desaturate your image globally (no selections) but no effects filters can be used.

Inverting the whole image to be a negative is completely allowed in Basic. It was done a lot in the recent Smoke challenge.

I believe you can turn the shot into a negative, if you use an adjustment layer (not sure what editing software you are using). To make the negative it would be the invert adjustment layer in PS (including Elements). In fact, the Negative Image challenge earlier this year was a basic editing challenge, so....

WOW - I didn't even have time for a coffee before a reply was posted. I'm using the software that came with my computer (Picture It)... VERY basic. I'm just looking at picking up a few tips and tricks before splashing out on a DSLR and Lightroom/Photoshop. Thanks for the response.
