Hmmmmmmm, and I thought Iceland was a happy, peppy Walt Disney kinda place.

What are they protesting?

An economy crisis of our own :) All the 3 major banks in Iceland collapsed about 100 days ago and people are unhappy with the government and everyone in charge.

Its only money, but if they turn off the northern lights then you have reason to be upset!

Are you sure that's a protest? It looks way too sedate to me. I've seen more action than that at grade school PTA meetings. Where are all the Molotov cocktails and burning cars? I don't see a single looter and nobody is throwing rocks or bottles. Heck, the cops aren't even using tear gas or rubber bullets!

It's true. We have more mayhem in our cities when the local team wins a major sporting event.
