In another thread, I had requested for a few photographs for my book on Digital Photography. My post gave an impression that I wanted them for free, in lieu of getting them published.

I am willing to pay ($5 to $10 per image) to anyone willing to contribute photographs. The Photographs are needed to elaborate on Tips and Tricks section of the book. Willing members may please PM me.

the amount you would pay for them, in that buy yourself a good camera and go out and shoot these photos.

Personally i would not write a book about anything if i can not do that thing myself. Its just that auther should know enough before telling others.

If you really can not comeup with photos you wished to include yourself but can notice in others portfolio then just mark them. And reshoot them. This is how may ribbons are won here anyway. So nothing wrong in shooting them yourself and call them yours.

Thanks for the advice. But I find nothing wrong in using stock photos. You can find so many photography books that contain images by several photographers.
Further, with this amount, I can't buy a good SLR camera.
And, if I need to include some images of waterfalls or night trails, I may have to travel to remote places for correct locations.
I am doing what I think I am good at, leaving the rest to others.

In defense of Krishan, at least this isn't a SPAM situation like we've been seeing running rampant here of late.

This is a plea from an established member who is moving forward with his photography journey.

Good luck to you in your efforts!

I'll see what I can dredge up.

Do you have any suggestions as to what someone who lives in the Northeastern US might have that would appeal to you?

Feel free to look through my images and see if you find a particular image, or style that I may use for guidance.

Just out of curiosity, what's so special about joey L. that makes you think he's the only one worthy of help from the members here? Did I miss some big event that somehow made him the Mother Theresa of DPC?

I think you might get a better response if you were more specific about the type(s) of photos that you need.

kbhatia,

I do not know what kind of shots you are interesting in, or wanting. However, if you would like to browse through my dpc portfolio to see if there is something you had in mind, just let me know through a PM and we will talk.

I doubt I have anything you'd want but feel free to have a look at mine too.
(I like to help folks who need it, NOT just those (like JoeyL) who are already doing just fine without it.)

Yes--feel free to look thru my portfolio here.

But, as someone mentioned, if you have some specific things in mind to illustrate points in your book, it might help us help you :-)

i disagree with this comment completely, on so many levels. and may i ask what difference it makes on who is asking the question? the fact is, that a fellow dpc'er has asked a simple question. that would take not 20 minutes of your life to quickly browse and see if you can contribute to some one who has nicely asked a favor. i dont understand what gives you the right to say this....

on another note. i would be glad to help out. i'll take a look and see if i can find something worthy

To understand what i said, you need to think what would be the response to this thread if the author were someone famous on dpc like Joey L.

Just for clarification: I did not intend to pick on Joey, I just used his name because he is famous here at dpc.

PS: I at the moment can not give anything to him from my portfolio (if there exists one) because 5 of my better images are in a photo competition (that asks that these photos should not be published anywhere).
Other than those, if anyone wants anything for any purpose he is always welcome.

Are you saying you said that just to help him out and draw attention to the thread? If that was your intent, congratulations, you brilliant strategist (and I mean that without the slightest hint of sarcasm). But if you're just trying to justify your horrible manners by describing their beneficial effect, well that's just immature.

First i really do not care about what would people think about me on dpc. I have lost most of my interest on dpc. I do visit it now for my personal amusement. And try to say what i feel is true.

If you have observed kbhatiya has asked for things in forum many times. Usually the response is so so. Send him a pm and ask what he think about response he gets.

So this time i did say something that evokes reaction.

Glad to see that there are people who thinks they could help anyone regardless of where he hails from.

Hi, Thanks to all, and sorry for the late response. In fact here it was night when you all were doing your hardwork!

In fact, I need illustrations on every subject, especially Tips and Tricks section of the book, which includes:

Isolating the subject from background
Wide Angle and Telephoto
Composition
Viewpoint
Time of the day
Patterns and shapes
Foreground
The WOW! Factor
Elements of Design
Low Key and High Key
Backlighting
Wide angle for dramatic effects
Viewpoint
Perspective
Landscapes
Panning Technique
The Foggy days
Star Trails
Long Exposures
Window Light
Colour or B&W?
Photography during Night
Fireworks
Landscapes
Shooting ‘Abstracts’
Shooting splash.
Close-up Photography
Colour harmony and colour contrast
Break the rules!

At present, this book contains only my images. I want to make this book world class. Hope to get a good response soon.

Yes, the response was low in the past, until people knew that I was serious about my work.
But, now it's different, as everyone can see!
