last year in the flowers side challenge i created an image ..

the circle was created using this method .. how to create amazing circles . i've put details in the photographer's comments of how the image was done ..

anyway ... while i was processing it i did a couple of other things which i didnt use for anything, but have only a jpeg and not the psd working file in my folder ..
at the time i must'v thought i'd remember how i did it ..
i dont remember ..
i wont make that mistake again .. !!!
these two are the two other processes i did ..

i've googled bubbles, circles and other things i cant remember, but cant find how i did those bubbles ..
several times in the last few weeks i've wanted to do something similar .. using that exact action/process but cant duplicate it ..
does anyone have any idea how i did it .??. THIS IS IMPORTANT .. !!! ..:)
thankyou .. :)

There is a way in PSP but it also uses the background...but is by way of a filter.

Sorry...PSP is Paint Shop Pro...owned by Corel but much cheaper...not with all the bells and whistles of PS...but still good.

you had me all excited there for a while .!!
nah .. that's how i did the background circle thing but not how i created the bubbles that seem like miniature versions of the scene only not quite .. :)
ps ... brilliant detective work tho .. :)

hey judi ..
i dont think we're there yet ...
they're definitely not amazing circles .. even tho the background was created using it .. and not phubbles from here Create Amazing circles and other things .. coz a phubble is just an amazing circle made more transparent in the middle to show the background 'behind' it ..

its not from How to create a soap bubble. coz the way i've done it distorts the interior image of the bubble .. like the scene is in the bubble only distorted .. also have the spots of light on them ..

i'm really hoping this isnt a lost cause and i did them myself somehow but cant remember ....
wot were the filters you were talking about .. ? ..:)

edit .. just had another look at those bubbles and the bottom one doesnt look as distorted .. aghhhhhhhhh .. how did i do it .. ??!!

It is a filter built into PSP...so if you weren't using PSP, then it is irrelevant. I will look more tomorrow...I am tired now.

when i first saw your suggestion this morning david Pug-H.. spheres .. i had googled them before and come up with nothing that would resemble my bubbles in the image ..
after Judi's input something clicked in my brain .. i remembered an image i'd seen by a lady in flickr leaves of glass by joshcalebwray .. her name is jeri ... anyway spent quite a while looking for wot i thought resembled the bubbles .. she's got quite a few photographs in there .. !! .. finally found the leaves of glass and have tried out the sphere action .. i think i must'v created the bubbles like that, but those spots of light are still puzzling me ..
thankyou everyone ..
i'm so grateful for your input and suggestions .. if anyone has more suggestions i'd love to hear ..
ps .. using cs3
using the elliptical marquee tool i created a circle of the area i wanted to make into a sphere/bubble...
you can create a circle rather than an oval if you hold down the shift key while dragging it out the the size you want ..
then from filter drop down menu/distort/spherize .. applied 100% in normal mode ..

A spot of light is just a drop of colour with the brush...smudged and then slight blur and opacity drop, sometimes with a gradient mask.

i was thinking that i got the spot of light when i created the sphere, but seeing it looks like the bubble/sphere was created using the spherize action then the light may have got there in some other way ..
i wish i could play some spooky music now .. !!..:)
now to make this a watched thread so i dont forget again .. !!
did i say thankyou .?. it never hurts to say something nice twice i reckon . :)

Roz, I'm shocked by your admission of memory loss for your bubble creator. A quick look in your portfolio reveals the true bubble master in your family and I'm truly surprised that you forgot but if I have to I'll remind you, it's Katee the bubble blowing wonder, pictured below and if I'm not mistaken you took the photo :)

Poor Katee, so under appreciated. Please let her know that I recognize her talents and would take great care of her if she feels so inclined :)

All the best to you and yours.

Oh and give Katee a pat on the head and a treat from me would you please, she looks so over worked.

MAX!
