If we are just losing ours should you not be just getting yours? Maybe someone can figure out a way to get a foliage shot down there.

It's getting a little late for many in the northern hemisphere. Minnesota has had snow off and on for a week.

Two weeks ago I'd have been doing the happy dance, now, well, not so many leaves left up here.

Fall was last week. Barely any leaves left hanging.

I am with you guys Even though it feels like it. It is not fall in New Zealand. I guess that is why they put hue adjusters in photoshop.

Hey Judi, I was in your country over the weekend. I really had a great time. Very nice place and the people there are very friendly. No one threatened me with a whip either. :)

Sydney is one of the nicest cities I have been too. It is alot like Sanfranciso or Chicago. Tons of things to see and do with an amazing skyline. 2 days was not near enough time to see it all but I gave it my best shot.

We've just had a humongous windstorm, leaves and branches everywhere. May be too late for me :-(

I did see alot of Boomerang's and Didgeridoo's. Here is the first of over 400 photos that I took of Sydney on Saturday.

I think my best option may be to get out with the infrared camera. Not a lot of color this time of year. Think you would get killed to bad if you used a single dead leaf- even if artfully done?

Apology not accepted! If an Autumn-themed challenge can be created then you'd think a Spring-themed one could too couldn't you? And you wonder why half the world has the opinion that Yanks believe the world ends at the US border!

And in a timely manner, an xkcd comic from a few days ago:

Lydia I didn't know you lived in the southern hemisphere, I thought you were from the US. Leaves are changing here, we've still got lots of green though. I will probably enter this challenge.

In the UK we dont have many spectacular locations for this, but we certainly have more than some ;)

If there is a promise that in 6 months time the southern hemisphere gets a go at showing all "fall" scenery then that could help make it a bit fairer. I presume you guys get the same type of thing happening? Thats probably a really stupid question but I have never been into the Southern Hemisphere..

Thanks, Michelle, but I'm really nowhere near the Southern Hemisphere... just don't have any leaves turning yet.

But, really... it doesn't say it HAS to be FALL foliage... just foliage. Any leaf'll do. :)

The challenge description says "Celebrate fall and the colors that come with it", so that excludes me from shooting spring foliage.

I disagree. I would not vote down a green leaf in this challenge.

Just be creative. I'm planning on having to do it if the trees here don't hurry up.

posted to THIS thread...

I dont feel like repeating my self other than the fact that because the planet is so diverse and there seems to be so many people offended with this Foliage challenge then I vote that there be NO challenges other than self portraits. I THINK everyone can do those, if not then we will have to find something that EVERYONE can shoot no matter where they are on the planet.

Other than that almost every challenge excludes someone on this planet so its not fair to them. Just trying to be politically correct and all...
