As we are awaiting one more result for the final winner of PPChallenge II, I would like to offer up a shorter, sweeter version of this side challenge.

I am hoping this new version of the challenge will focus less on "rescuing" so-so or problem images and more on perfecting interesting originals, more on showcasing the different approaches that can be taken in the post-processing of excellent photographs. Here's how it will work...

Like the original challenge, I will take originals for a few days via this thread starting now. Please post these full-sized to your Workshop. On Sunday, a panel of talented fellow DPCers will select 10 originals from those submitted, covering many genres.

Then starting Monday, April 5th, I'll start a new thread much like the old threads (example) and we can all start post processing these final 10. We will have the entire week to post process (until Sunday night). On Monday, the contributors will turn in their top three edits and I will add up the score and announce a winner. This will only last one week, not one month as before (21 originals a week for a whole month was a little insane, but I was impressed with the participation).

There will be no restrictions with editing (however the contributing photographer may have preferences listed in the comments section).

Ultimately this thread is for posting originals, asking questions, giving suggestions, and showing an interest. I will also be posting all of the contributions here in the original post.

Potential PP Participants include:

redjulep, Bear_Music, cryan, pwm6, Kelli, coryboehne, pjotre7, JulietNN, johst582, eva2k0, amateurboi, iamwoman, coryboehne, hipychik, Hot_Pixel, Art Roflmao, JokersSoul, Ja-9, sfalice, jomari

I think everyone is in shock or riled up about the goings-on on DPC. Here's a few originals for consideration:

I wasn't going to submit any since I don't really have any that don't need rescue of some type, but here's three for consideration...

I really liked how much this image ended up looking like something bear_music might appreciate.

Don't know if anybody else will like it, and there was never any reason to really use this image, so I'd love it if it got PP'd by some of the absolutely ridiculously talented people that play around here..

ETA::

Aww the heck with it, here's one for posthumous, in celebration of his acquittal.

You're right about that. I'll be all over it like white on rice :-)

I have some I'll get up tomorrow. You guys'll be amazed at how flat my originals are. Though I guess since I can only post JPG, I'll have to tweak 'em in the converter or they will be hopeless...

Question, Do we need to keep within a certain set of post processing rules or are we allow to work within the skill set in which we have? To clarify, are we post processing for DPC or are post processing to improve the photo in general.

Another question:

Can you play without submitting an origonal, or is that part of the overall challenge.
I was thinking of playing, but didnt play last time and trying to get the overview of everything.

OK, here's 3 possibles from me, all straight from camera, just converted to JPG. That's how I shoot, low contrast and low sat and no sharpening.

Yes, you definitely can. This time the submitted originals will be screened and 10 will be selected for working on, so the task is more manageable. No need to submit an original to play.

Thanks for the quick response Robert, one more final question (sorry there is so many) Are we supposed to process all 10 or are we supposed to pick a limited number and process them?
