Hi Matt,

You site looks nice. It is definitly a great start. I like that everything is well organized and easy to navigate. There are a couple things you can do to improve the browsing experiance.

1. Consider using a thicker font for the navigation. This very thin version of helvettica is difficult to read.

2. On the gallery pages, leave a little bit of space between the thumbnails, navigation and large scale images. When they are stacked on top of eachother, it seams a little bit cluttered. The thumbnails might look cleaner and better without the berveled effect.

3. Bellow the navigation include a box where users can subsicribe to your maling list or send you a quick note. Users should be able to interact with you from every page on your site. If they have to click to contact in order to do so, they may lose the thought they had when looking at a specific image or page. Next to this box you may conider putting image links to your facebook, myspace, twitter, etc.

Hope this helps:o)

You arent the first person to talk about the Helvetica,,,

I will def change that. Im going to change up the thumbnails a little bit as well.

Interesting thought on the contacting for the email list. Perhaps I can add another link on top next to blog that says "sign-up"? that might work. what do you think?

stylish and sexy

Hi - looking good, but the grey on black will be difficult for some people to read. If you go to 'Contact' you can't seem to get off it and although you can look at galleries from there, the thumbs are blurry and your contact details poke out from behind the photos. Overall the site felt ever so slightly gloomy :)

I would try to have a way to keep at least the Contact page visible in all frames. I was looking though the images and couldn't find a contact page, until I clicked on the top. Actually I closed the site and re-opened it from the link you posted. Then watched it disappear as I went into galleries. I may also make it a little bit brighter, you want people to find your contact page. :) A second thing I noticed was in your couples section you have a lot of silhouettes, which I like but I think potential customers would like to see more images of faces. Also you have a single woman in this section that I would move to the people section. I think it looks very good and you get a thousand bonus points for not having music playing when it loaded up. :)

Amazing photos. I think your site is very nice. It is clean and straightforward, showcasing your art. Nice work.

Your photos seem very small. I would try to make them much larger so people can see them and appreciate the details.

Another thing I would do is fade the left and right edges of your navigation buttons. They fade in at the top and bottom but the sides seem to just stop.

Another thing I see is your thumbnails are too close to your navigation links. See if you can drop them down below your links or a little higher but I think that if you went below the links it would look better.

Thanks very much for the critiquing! You guys rock. I guess I got caught up in the moment for a second while designing. I incorporated all sorts of things that I wanted to see but was not conscience of what others thought. When you click on a gallery, everything fades a bit so that the pictures are more noticeable. It fades back whenever you click to the side, the picture and thumbnails go away as well. As far as the contact form is concerned, there is a little power button at the top left that makes the form go away. I will turn it into an X so that people know what it is.

I will rearrange my thumbs a bit to give more room. As far as the pictures being small, I was concerned about that too. I built the site with my 13" macbook in mind. I will make it so that you can scale the entire website to fit in different browsers. I actually thought of making it so that the picture becomes the background and when you stop moving your mouse everything fades away and all you see is the picture and when you move your mouse again, the buttons and links pop up...

I don't like how each picture fades in. I cannot quickly look at a photo or go between photos quickly. Even when I want to look at just one I have to wait extra seconds to ensure the photo is done fading in. It's this weird feeling having to watch the photo fade in (esp dark ones) and it doesn't sit well for me. Don't know if anyone else feels the same way.
