So this is my first attempt at a "splash" shot... it's not an original concept, in fact, it's probably seen too often, lol, but I just wanted to see if I could do it. I'm happy with it as an attempt, but don't expect too much score wise ;)

I wish I hadn't left it till the last minute to take this shot, I could've really benefited from being able to test more settings. Unfortunately my last-minute homemade lighting solutions weren't bright enough and I had to bump the ISO and aperture up a lot. By the time I realised I wanted a deeper depth of field, I ran out of oreo's haha and it was too late to go buy more. Oh well, ya live, ya learn ;)

I had fun anyway, even if it did make a huge mess!

I love it all... well.. I would like a bit more definition in the cookies... but wow.

Great job!! How many times did you have to clean it up? :)

I think I can see some cookie crumbs and a profile of a cookie in the splash. It alsao looks like it could have been a messy shot to have to re-do. Nice stop action, with such a narrow DOF did you splash the lens?

Mmmm, I could go for this right about now.

I like how the splash has so much depth to it. Although I'm not so certain about the half eaten cookie, I think a pulled apart Oreo could work even better.

Good looking oreos. I'll guess you pushed the ISO to get a fast enough shutter speed to capture some of the splash because there's a distracting amount of noise in the background. The very narrow DOF does not include enough of the glass and milk particles. Also, the foremost oreo (partially eaten) is in front of the DOF plane. It really hurts my eyes to view the elements in focus and OOF elements... side-by-side. What did you want the viewer to see? The black frame is a big negative. At the top portion of the image, the frame melts into the black bg. It reduces the amount of viewable image. The crop is too tight, with the most interesting part of the splash forced to the top border, where the black frame cuts it off. The nearly square rectangle voids any harmonious composition attempt to asymmetrically compose the subject. I do believe you have the white balance done correctly. I do like oreos. 10

I think I don't want to know how your place looked after the shooting. But maybe it was the first that worked so well!

Great splash! Love the half eaten oreo. Bet this was a mess to clean up. You got a great shot out of it though. Good job.

Hopefully you landed this on one shot, as it could have been a messy exercise. Good capture all round 7
