Man I thought this challenge was nuts! What in the heck can we learn if we shoot with our eyes closed. Not much I thought. Even after I started taking shots blind, I thought, this is the most silly challenge ever. I sat and waited for something to happen by pinpointing activity with my ears. That seemed to work only so well. So I sat and waited some more. Then I got bored and decided to walk around a little. I noticed a very sharp shadow being produced from these two large stone sculptures. I walked in between them and looked up and felt the warm sun on my face. It then came to me. Use the sun to pin point the direction of my lens. I pointed the camera in a darker part of the stone to get the metering right and then recomposed with warmth of the sun on my face guiding the way. I was super thrilled with what I got from this technique. Obviously it took a few shots to get this right. But after I got this shot, I knew I had the one I wanted.

Funny though, when I was walking back to my car, I still felt this challenge was rather silly. Only because I don't think I really learned anything significant from it. I'm thinking I missed a lesson here somewhere. Or maybe not.

Love all the flares. This perspective makes me feel as if the rocks are about to tumble on top of you.

This is really futuristic looking. I like it. Two monoliths converging.
