wow, thank you for the great response. I had no idea this was going to score high. I wasn't thinking about the impact of the whole mother/child motif.

unfortunately, my favorite comment was removed. Some Netherlandic person told me it was depressing and I should make the lamb "shine more."

Congrats on the ribbon, Don. I'm sorry I didn't get to viewing/voting so you got no contribution from me, but it is a darn fine image. I like the little stain on the wall behind the sheep - it looks like a shepherd.

The more I look the more I see. The little hooded figure behind mum. The eye on the post looking back at me. Amazing.

Or maybe it was the former. I thought it was a rather uninspired picture, actually, especially since I've already submitted several sheep. But I really really liked my crop of it, with the pillar on the left and the dark windows on top.

Congrats, Don! Just straight congrats, no sadness. I don't think your point all these years has been to disdain ribbons, but rather to hope (and help!) people recognize something other than the typical as ribbon-worthy. And you stayed true to your vision as you did it.

So for ribboning while doing all that, congrats!

Surprise, surprise! Every so often the planets get into a certain configuration, the people become more reeptive receptive, the eyes sharper, the hearts nobler ....
You shall share the award with your models or give them a bonus of sorts. The wall is a work of art that only time can achieve.
You wore a blue ribbon in my book before the turnover. It's still blue.

Challenge Description: Select your subject and compose your photo such that the point(s) of interest are in the corner(s) of the your composition.

I love the image... but the subject ... the "point of interest" is more on the "rule of thirds"... away from the corners of the image.

Maybe I misunderstood the challenge...
