I think I might get knocked for "not meeting the challenge"
But the forground image (the girl) definately frames the rest of the image!

In order to stay within the basic editing rules, I took 4 different photos. Took a photo, printed it out, framed it. Took a photo, printed it out, framed it. Took a photo, printed it out, framed it. Get it? An easier way would be to use photoshop and cut/paste then free transform the new layer. Who said it would be easy? Anyways, this is my daughter Nova, she was VERY patient with me. Now we have a cool shot for the wall.

Very nicely done! It would be easier to cut & paste, but you wouldn't of got the varying poses that really make the photo.

great concept and execution of idea. b&w and the low-key lighting really works for this photo.

Eric, great shot!

Now, here's the challenge for you. You will cherish this if you do it. Every year, take one of these with her holding LAST YEAR's pic. Do that for the next 10 years until she's fully matured. It will indeed be precious. (I did this with a video my daughter's first 5 or so years, kept shooting video of her on the same couch, you can see her develop in real time. A photo like this would be even more awesome!

Catch them while they're young!

Well, you've inspired me to try something like this. You are definetly right about this being a great shot for the wall. Now the trick, how do I get a 2 year old to be as patient as your beautiful little model?! :-) Congrats, this is a beautiful photo.

This is BY FAR my choice for the Blue for this challenge! Awesome shot that I assumed would be underappreciated. Thankfully I was wrong! Still should have got a ribbon though...

Edited to add. I usually hate big borders, but this one works so well that I didn't even notice it till I posted this comment...

Really really good, but it's a very loose interpretation of...screw it, that's what everyone else will be complaining about so I'll just give you the 8 I really want to give you!

So cool. Can't wait to hear the story behind its creation. Really nice use of framing, contrasts, black and whites, and sure to be a family heirloom in future generations of the young subject's family. Congratulations.

I *really* love this shot.. (and, embarrassingly, was waiting for it to be validated before commenting). I figured you probably took and printed out the photographs you used in the frames there, but wasn't sure. .. ANYway :)

It's a wonderful idea, very playful. I find the B&W a touch too dark, although the contrast is great. The girl has great expressions on her face, but it's hard to see the last two, unfortunately.

Good work, great creativity, and a photograph you'll probably treasure for a long time :)

Great shot! This doesn't fit the challenge under their definition of framing, so you'll probably not do as well as this photo would in a better suited challenge, but it's a great image regardless. The varied angles and expressions are great, and I like the sharp contrast.

Very cool. I have seen this style of photo before (perhaps one of yours?) This is very good, perhaps a little too low key for the subject. Might have been better with some light on the left also. I think this will be in the top 10
